What is SSL?

SSL stands for 'Secure Sockets Layer' and is a system for securing and transferring private information over the Internet.

A secure certificate is basically a set of instructions that encrypts sensitive information (like credit card numbers) while they are being processed. This prevents third parties from hijacking sensitive information and using them for fraudulent purposes.

Access to the ShopFrontPro SSL certificate is included in your monthly fee.

What is PCI DSS?

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) is a set of strict security standards relating to storage, processing or transaction of credit card data, developed by the leading payment brands, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc. Compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard is highly recommended for all online stores.

ShopFrontPro compliance with PCI

Cardholder data protection in ShopFrontPro is provided for both online and offline payment methods. In the case of offline order processing, the cardholder data is encrypted with the Blowfish algorithm and stored in the ShopFrontPro database. After the order is processed, the credit card information can be deleted automatically.
